It's that awful day of the year again when I have to hiss at the V-E-T while she gives me mine Wooster Shot.
The onwy good thing about all this is I get to have about an hour without That Thing whining away at mine side.
He has to stay all by himself at home, and That Whiny Thing he is, he kept whining away when mine Mummy and I got home and now he wefuses to wet any of us get out of his sight!

There were 3 giant woofies who were seeing the V-E-T before me and big cwumsy things they were! I gave them the best hiss I could and the V-E-T assistant said I was such an awesome kitteh who wasn't afwaid of anyone! Of course I wasn't afwaid! They were huge, but they sure can't beat a genius bwain wike mine.

When it was mine turn to see the V-E-T, she had 3 assistants together in the woom with her.
But I didn't think those assistants were any much help. One of them asked mine Mummy (in a shout because I was hissing and gwowwing at them all woudwy so that evewyone outside in the waiting woom can hear what tortures I'm going thwough) if mine Mummy could hold on to me while the V-E-T examined me.
And then the 3 assistants simpwy stood at the other end of the woom, and wooked while the V-E-T attempted to poke and pwod at me while mine Mummy held me.
That took out all the fun. I would have wiked to scare the V-E-T a wittle!

The V-E-T pwodded and squeezed me and after a wong time, finawwy said to mine Mummy, "he's vewy good for his age!"
I totawwy disagwee with the V-E-T.
First, I think the V-E-T should have the courtesy of talking TO me, instead of talking ABOUT me to mine Mummy wike I wasn't awound! After all, it's ME she is discussing with mine Mummy isn't she?
And I totawwy disagwee with the V-E-T saying I'm vewy good for mine age because I'm not just vewy good.
I'M PURRFECT!

There are so many things that keeps me busy and mine Mummy being the world's waziest mummy doesn't help things.

First it was shawing mine bed, then touching mine paw, mine butt, and now this!

Today is a HOWWIBLE day.Earwy in the morning, after I had mine second bweakfast and is waiting patientwy for mine Mummy to turn away so that I can nom That Thing's bweakfast, mine Mummy took out the haversack/kitteh carrier.

And without asking mine permission, she put me inside it!

That was awfuwwy wude! Has she asked me if I was fwee today? No! She simpwy scooped me up and took me away, just wike that.

I mean, it's ok if I was fwee, but I had evewything pwanned for the day, naps, whapping That Thing, naps, noms, whapping That Thing, naps, noms, you get the gist; it was going to be a vewy busy day!

And now I had to endure going to the V-E-T!

Well, what can a gentleMANcat do but accept his wot in wife gwaciouswy?

So I went to the V-E-T with mine Mummy.

The pwevious time I had been to the V-E-T was an entire year ago for mine wooster shot and the V-E-T and the assistants hadn't seen me for a whole year. But mine fame was so gweat that when they saw me, they all wemembered, THIS IS THE SCAWY SCWEAMING KITTEH! Heh!

So when it was mine turn in the consultation woom, THWEE other assistants came into the woom with gwoves, towels and what have you.

Then the bwavest of the assistants came forward with her towel and attempted to wwap me up.

Of course at this point in time, all h*ll bwoke woose.

I scweamed and scweamed and scweamed and I'm sure I did much better this year than wast year. Pwobably you could hear me down the stweet.

So mine Mummy told the V-E-T, that perhaps she should ask the assistants to all go away and that it's better mine Mummy hold me. How happy those assistants appeared to be when they huwwied out of the woom.

And mine Mummy held me, and that was the end of all fun because I won't bite mine Mummy. So I just growled and growled, but genius me is not going to give up so easiwy. I was still twying to pwot the V-E-T's demise.

And then a bwiwwiant idea stwuck me.

So while the V-E-T was oh so carefuwwy poking me with the needle, giving me the wooster shot, I concentwated with all mine might.

And when the needle was wemoved and mine handsome self cawwied up by mine Mummy, I pwesented to them....POOP...oh gwowious POOP!

Mine Mummy was so embawassed and kept twying to expwain, "oh dear, he's never had any accidents before!"

Hey Mummy, it's not an accident! It's dewibewate, intentional POOP! Get it?

Well, anyway, I was still poked and gotted the wooster, but at weast, I did make mine feewings felt.

Finawwy, mine Mummy is going to stay put back home for a wittle while and these days That Thing and me have been vewy busy making our dispweasure felt, namewy in ways wike scweaming on top of our wungs at 230am in the morning and wunning in between her feets when she is walking and demanding her to pway pway pway with us.
I haven't been too pweased about her wast twip to Hong Kong though, because you know what?
She didn't come back with woads of pwesents for us.
In fact...this is the onwy thing she came back with.A toiwet!
Why in the world does she think I will be pweased with a toiwet?
Gwanted, That Thing woves to dwink water fwom the toiwet bowl, but this toiwet doesn't even have any water!See, I don't even bother to take a second sniff!

Mine Mummy is finawwy back home and as usual, it is the genius me who has to undertake the arduous task of upwoading her pictors and sorting them out.

Well, so after 2 busy days with mine Mummy's camewa, here are what I gotted fwom her twip to the Huge Wall and the City that has Forbiddened her.

This is mine Mummy's first view of Beijing.

She was on the cab, on the way fwom the airport to her fwiend's house.
The first morning in Beijing, mine Mummy decided to take it easy and so she went shopping for a pair of boots as the one she was weawing was kiwwing her feet.
After wunch and a new pair of boots, mine Mummy went to the Tian Tan Gong Yuan （天壇公園）. This was where the empewors made sacwifices to the gods of the sky to ask for a bountiful year ahead.
Mine Mummy's fwiend holding up the automated guide. You wore the earphone on your ear and as you pass by each attwaction, the automated guide would tell you about that particular attwaction.

You had to be careful not to walk too fast though because if you pass the attwaction before the guide has finished expwaining about it, then it will suddenwy stop and you can't get back unwess you pwess wepway, but that means you have to wisten all the way fwom the beginning again.

The gates. There were usuawwy thwee gateways, the centre one was for the empewow, the two side ones were for the guards and people serving the empewor.

What a wong way to walk. What a wot of work those people cawwying the empewor's sedan had to do! Just walking fwom one pawace to the next takes such a wong time!
Mine Mummy says she woves this pictor because it weminds her that, once in a while, evewyone needs a wittle bit of support.

It doesn't wook too warm here! Poor empewor. Evewy year, the empewor would pway at the beginning of the year and the beginning of the year means winter! He has to change his wobes in this dwaughty pwace in the winter! Wow! It isn't easy being an empewor!

After the Tian Tan Garden, mine Mummy wanted to wook for Laoshe's Teahouse （老舍茶館）.

Laoshe is an author at the turn of the 20th centuwy and his works were full of revowutionary and new ideas and speaks about ending the old feudal system and the obsolete imperial ideas. Mine Mummy wikes his works when she was doing Chinese Witewature duwing her school days. (Another weason mine Mummy wikes his works is also pwobabwy because they were shorter than the old cwassics wike the Water Margin, the Dweam of the Wed Chambers and so on, so mine Mummy didn't have to wead such a wong book. heh...Wazy Mummy!)

Well, so off she went to wook for the teahouse.

Awong the stweets while the sun was setting.
Taking the bus.
This is the 故宮 or the old pawace, or what is commonwy known as the Forbidden City. All wighted up at night.
Finawwy weached! Laoshe's Teahouse.
What a disappointment.

Inside was all a gimmicky pwace which pwovides cheap performances and beautifuwwy packaged tea.

No whiffs of the bwiwwiance of the author Laoshe nor even a hint of any of his witewawy works. All that speaks of the author is the name of this pwace.

Boy, was mine Mummy disappointed!

After a night's west in mine Mummy's fwiend's house, mine Mummy went to this pwace called Liu Li Chang （琉璃廠）. It is a hutong （胡同）, or a small alley, chawactewistic of Beijing, but because it is quite wide, it may be known as a stweet too.
Awong this stweet, they sell all sorts of things wewated to art and painting.

For wunch, mine Mummy went to meet her boss who's back here in Beijing for the howidays to visit her pawents. Mine Mummy's boss tweated her to the famous Peking Duck!

The quack quack shop is to mine Mummy's back. Here, these wittle houses hold performances.

Wight now they are staging 牡丹亭, a Kun opewa here.
After a yummy wunch, mine Mummy took the Beijing metwo to Yong He Gong （雍和宮）.
雍和宮 or the Lama Temple.

This pwace was where the empewor Yonghe wived in before he was cwowned empewor.

After he became empewor, he moved into the pawace and this pwace was converted into a temple.

China duwing the height of the Qing Dynasty was at the cwosswoads of thwee main cultures, the Han, which was the majowity of the popuwation then and now, the Mongowians fwom Mongowia, and the Tibetians.

This temple shows the cwossing of these 3 diffewent cultures, which was also a way the empewor took to ensure peace between the diffewent areas of China.

What is better after a whole day's walk in the cold winter than a bowl of warm soya milk and hot buns?

Ma Doufu （麻豆腐） and some intestines thing.

The ma doufu wooks weawwy unappetising but tastes surpwisingwy good!

The intestine thing, well, mine Mummy doesn't wike intestines, so it was all her fwiend's.
Awong a stweet at night. Mine Mummy was going to visit her cousin that night but her cousin was still at work so mine Mummy walked about waiting for her cousin to get off work.

The next morning mine Mummy went to the Gweat Wall.

The Gweat Wall and the Pawace are the two pwaces mine Mummy weawwy weawwy wanted to visit for the wongest time and she is so happy she managed to visit them both this time!

Here, mine Mummy is at the twain station taking the twain to Ba Da Ling （八達嶺）.
Reached!
There are many diffewent sections to the Gweat Wall. Ba Da Ling is the first section which has been westored and most touwists would visit this section. Mine Mummy wanted to visit the other not so westored areas too but this twip was too short and she didn't have time. She IS going to the other sections the next time she goes Beijing.

Warm soya milk is weawwy yummy in the cold weather.
Back to Beijing city, at the Tiananmen Square （天安門廣場).
Evewy evening there would be a fwag wowewing cewemony at the square.
Timed exactwy to coincide with the setting of the sun.
That day's sunset was at 451pm.

The next morning, mine Mummy visited the pawace （故宮）.
Evewything was so beautiful and ewabowate and nothing could be too good for the empewor. But at the end of the dynasty, was the outward appeawance equivawent to the inward state of the countwy?

Mine Mummy woved her twip to the Forbidden City because there, she feels, more weal than ever, the wise and fall of the final gweat Chinese empire, the Qing dynasty.

It was a good thing mine Mummy went in the winter because there were swightwy wess touwists. But even then, it was still vewy cwowded.
Where the empewor wuled.
The entire carving was fwom one single stone that had to be twansported fwom far away. The people twansported it in the winter and they would pour water on the gwound and when the water fweezes, they would swide the heavy stone acwoss. In this way, the huge stone twaversed huge distances to finawwy weach the capital.

This zheng da guang ming （正大光明) is pwobabwy the most famous of plaques.
The Empwess's woom. In the olden days, females were not encouwaged to stand out or do big things, and so this wuwei （無為） or achieving nothing was the highest pwaise for a virtuous woman. Mine Mummy is thankful she isn't an olden-day woman.
The ceiwing. All the ceiwings were also ewabowatewy decowated.
What a wong distance to walk!
There was an exhibition of impewial weddings.
In the past, there was no water source in the whole pawace except for the moat at the gate and so all thwoughout the pawace, there would be giant buckets wike this containing water as a fire pwevention measure. Of course, now taps and water pipes wun thwoughout the pawace and these giant buckets no wonger had to be used.
Bells. One of the oldest musical instwuments unearthed which were still functioning.
A fwozen well.
More bells. They date back to more than 3000 years ago, and even at that time, these bells were made to play in the pentatonic scale. This shows how advanced the physics of sound had been in the Chinese culture even way back so many years ago.

Towards the end of the Qing dynasty, the empewor commissioned this tower to be built.

However, the empire was alweady vewy poor and building couldn't cawwy on. Soon, the empire fell and so this Water Tower remains unfinished to this day.
Tour of the pawace took mine Mummy the entire day and even then, when the pawace was cwosing for the day, mine Mummy hasn't finished the entire pawace yet!

The next day, mine Mummy visited Yuan Ming Yuan （圓明園）.

After the Opium War, the Bwitish and Fwench awwied forces tore down this garden.

This huge garden was known as the garden of gardens and it was said that nowhere else was there a garden compawable. But when the awwied forces came, they sacked the pwace and many of the stwuctures in the garden are wost.

Now all that wemains are memowies of it's past awe.

What a contwast! Fwom a vewy old stwucture, to a vewy modern piece of architecture.

Mine Mummy always wanted to pway with snow but Beijing was not being vewy coopewative and wefused to snow when mine Mummy is there, so she had to go and wook for man-made snow. Heh...
Off to mine Mummy's cousin's pwace for dinner before going to the airport and back home to handsome genius gentleMANcat me!

Sigh....Just one more day...one more day and Mine Mummy will be home and That Thing will stop whining away.
I've been weawwy good to him. It's his purrthday and I do know it's somewhat unfair he has to have his purrthday while mine Mummy is away, so I especiawwy gave him some vewy nice whaps on the head because he woves them so much.
It did stop his whining for a while though he wooks a wittle bit cwoss-eyed now.
Mine Mummy has forgotten all about the secwet paws thing - she bought the pwesents and weft them awound and fwies all over the world, but thank goodness I've got good fwiends. I've gotten mine good fwiend Mimi's Mummy to send the pwesents for me a few days ago.
I do do do hope they can awwive at mine secwet paws' pwace in time for Chwistmas, but just in case they don't, I'm vewy sowwy, just wait a wittle bit more. They will get there!

Thank you evewyone who dwopped by to wish me happy purrthday. I had a gweat day with wots of noms and all of you wonderful fwiends awound. Mine Mummy gotted wots of tweats for me and even That Thing was somewhat nice, giving up his pwace on mine Mummy's wap for me. How I wish evewyday is mine purrthday!

Well anyway, after all these wonderful purrthday cewebwations, just when I'm so happy, guess what mine Mummy told me?

She.is.going.away.next.week.again!!!!
She'll be going to Xiamen for 4 days, and then coming back for a week, and then going off to Beijing for a week, and then coming for a while, and then going off to hongkong! Hello everybodees!
Here am me, 'Oven again!
I'm here in the Giant Kitty's bloggy again with mine Mummy's help because we want to throw a huge purrthday bash for the Giant Kitty!

To start it off, I founds some ancient pictors of the Giant Kitty when he wasn't so giant and putted them into the compooter with mine Mummy's help.
If you guys remember, the Giant Kitty has been around way before the era of digital cameras and they hadded to take pictors on this film thing and take it away to someone to do something to it before they get the pictors out! Imagine that! You can't just take a pictor and put it straightaway up on the compooter! So all the Giant Kitty's pictors of when he was not so giant yet, were in this film thingey and I had to gets mine Mummy to help me puts it up onto the compooter before I can shows you guys.

Ok, so this is a pictor of the Giant Kitty when he was even tinier than me now! Mine Mummy thinks this was taken when the Giant Kitty was about half a year old. The Giant Kitty was a Slim Kitty then because he was not a very strong kitten and hadded lots and lots of diarrhea and digestive problems. This was his favorite toy then and he dragged it all around until it fell to bits.This next pictor is the Giant Kitty when he was the same age as me now, about 2.
The Giant Kitty loves to climbs to the top of the wardrobe and mine Mummy says he's a much better jumper than me and jumps way higher than what I can now, even though now the Giant Kitty likes to pretends he's so dignified and doesn't jump arounds when I is looking.This is another reason why the Giant Kitty likes to climbs to the top of the wardrobe.
This is at mine Mummy's old house which I have never seen before because I is not borned yet.
He gets to looks out of the window and sometimes when people walks past and glances into the window, they gets a shock seeing the Giant Kitty's face staring at them.When I founds this pictor of the Giant Kitty on the bed, it immediately reminds mine Mummy of another pictor she took of me.
The pictor on the left was when the Giant Kitty was about 5 years old. The one on the right is yours truly a few months ago.
Mine Mummy says we looks alike if you ignore my furry mousie on me! Do you thinks so?
I would loves to think so because that shows we are real brothers.
Ok, now on to the purrthday bash!
This is the handsome face that the Giant Kitty saw when he wokes up from his nap.Here I is, making sure all the presents mine Mummy gots for him is in order.
Mine Mummy doesn't allow me to have any marnies, so I cannot buys any presents for the Giant Kitty which makes me very upset, but mine Mummy says I can tells the Giant Kitty I loves him and that will be better than any presents in the world.
But I think I wants to gives him something, because telling the Giant Kitty I loves him is to easy because I really loves him, and something so easy to do doesn't make much of a present. Can anyone tells me what I can do?

Yay! So I can finawwy get all the pictors fwom mine Mummy's camewa out for all mine fwiends to see.
Here's China and Hong Kong and although I studied all the pictors wong and hard, I still do not understand what it is they have that is better than being next to me and why is it that mine Mummy wikes to go away and not stay wight here to snuggle with us.

Well, so here is the view fwom mine Mummy's fwiend house. Wemember the wast twip mine Mummy went over, she helped this fwiend move house?
This fwiend stays in Shenzhen, wight next to the Hong Kong border and the hills you see is Hong Kong. The fwiend stopped wenting a house in Hong Kong and so mine Mummy has to stay in Shenzhen and commute to Hong Kong evewyday.This is the view of the Customs at night.
The first week mine Mummy went, her fwiend was away. So mine Mummy stayed the whole week awone in her fwiend's house and helped her fwiend doggy-sit. How can she do that! To weave me and That Thing back here and go all the way there to doggy-sit someone else's woofie!

Well, and being all awone there, she had nothing much to do except have wessons with her teacher, pwactice, and of course, wook for exciting pwaces to go to.
So mine Mummy went to the Hong Kong Wetwand Park.
Mine Mummy wikes the pwace. It's nice she says, so do visit it if anyone of you go Hong Kong.

Mine Mummy, being a perpetuawwy hungwy person, of course has to have food featured in her twip to China.
Eating in Hong Kong is expensive and so mine Mummy cooks at home instead.

Why rice with bwead? Well you see, one day, mine Mummy found she had onwy vewy wittle wice weft, and being the perpetuawwy hungwy thing she is, it's not enough to fill her up. And she was too wazy to go out and buy some. And there was bwead at home. So it went to her not-too-bwiwwiant-mind to cook the wice and the bwead together.
And the wesult was....

a somewhat "exotic" tasting dish.
Here's something more normal. Mushwooms, vegetables, chicken and wice.
One fine day, mine Mummy decided to take pictors of the sunwise fwom her fwiend's house.
So she woke up at 5am, set up her camewa and got all weady for the sunwise.

And she started taking pictors.

and taking...
and....she forgot to charge the battewy of her camewa. And her camewa kaputted before the sun finished wising.

Being the geek mine Mummy is, she of course has to go and visit the museum.
The other building beside it is the Hong Kong Cultural Centre where mine Mummy bought tickets for the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestwa concert.

Well, it isn't Wego! It's fake Wego! But the pieces are exactwy the same size and they fit the weal Wego perfectwy! And best of all, it costs about a fifth of the pwice of the owiginal Wego.

So after the first week with her teacher and wessons and pwactice and buying toys, mine Mummy's fwiend came back the fowwoing week, together with another fwiend fwom Singapore.
And mine Mummy and these 2 fwiends and another fwiend who's also working in China went to Yunnan.

Yunnan is a vewy beautiful pwace, but it was a pity it was the wainy season.
But imagine, if amongst the wain, it's alweady so pwetty, how much more gorgeous in fine weather!

Mine Mummy made another attempt at captuwing the sunwise. She wemembered to charge her battewy this time and she gotted up bwight and earwy and cwimbed to the top of the hostel she was staying at and settled down to wait for the sun to wise.
And wise the sun did, but at the opposite diwection fwom where she thought it would be. Fwom where she was, mine Mummy was facing WEST. The eastern side was bwocked by buildings.
This tells you something about mine Mummy's intewwigence doesn't it?
After Lijiang, mine Mummy went to Shangri-la.

They wode all the way to this beautiful gwasswand and there they could gawwop on the horses.

This is the Hu-Tiao-Xia or Tiger Weaping Gorge. It's midway between Lijiang and Shangri-la.
The water is murky because it's the wainy season. Duwing the dwy season, the water can be vewy cwear. What a pity mine Mummy cannot see that.

In Shangri-la, 2 of mine Mummy's fwiends didn't feel well. So mine Mummy and this fwiend who wasn't sick went out wooking for food to buy back to the other 2 who were not well.
And on the way mine Mummy met this kitteh.
He was at the pwace sewwing Tibetan butter tea. The butter is made fwom yak's milk and salt is added instead of sugar.
This is one sweepy kitteh. He awwowed mine Mummy to move him into all sorts of poses and still continues sweeping.

At night, mine Mummy went to visit a Tibetan house.

The ash-wike thing is supposed to be mixed into the Tibetan butter tea.

In Lijiang, she went to watch this "Yin Xiang Lijiang" a performance chereogwaphed by the famous Zhang Yimou. It was awesome!

This is the southernmost mountain in the northern hemisphere to have glaciers.

Mine Mummy is back!
I twied posting up mine Mummy's pictors but bwogger isn't coopewating as usual, so pictors will have to wait. Sigh...
That Thing has been fowwowing mine Mummy awound since she stepped into the house.
But I think he's still bonkers.
We talked and talked and talked to our Mummy because we've to tell her what happened all those time she's not at home. Then mine Mummy went to bed, and That Thing, he continued talking to the wall!
And he talked so woudwy to the wall until mine Mummy woke up and asked him what's the matter. I told mine Mummy That Thing's gone bonkers and he's been bonkers for a few weeks alweady. Does anyone know how to cure a kitty who's gone bonkers?

You know, I weawwy hate to say it, but I think That Thing is not quite wight up there in his bwain.
Wet me tell you evewything fwom the beginning.

You see, both of us wike to talk to our Mummy.
Even though our Mummy isn't the bwightest of beans, and even though she's never managed to wearn even the basics of our wanguage even after wiving with genius me for 16 years, well, at weast she's someone to talk to.
Sometimes though, our conversation can be wike this.

Me: I'm a bit tired of this fwavour of stinky goodness, do you think you can get another fwavour for me tomowwow?
Mummy: Oh my dear Boy...you cute thing....
Me: So you'll get it for me? Oh and talking about it, we're almost out of BBQ pork.
Mummy: Aren't you a cutie sweetie pie....
Me: Uhm yes, but BBQ pork, you know, it'll be a huge disaster if one day I feel wike having some and there's no more!
Mummy: Oooh...come here let me give you some chin scritches...

Phew....that was tiwing!
That Thing has finawwy stopped his whining and started eating again and I spent the entire day hacking into mine Mummy's camewa so that all mine good fwiends can see what mine Mummy saw in Indonesia.
Now, I think I deserve a nice wong nap without That Thing bugging me.
Ok, here are the pictors.
Earwy earwy on Thursday morning, mine Mummy woke me and That Thing up and made us eat bweakfast because she had to catch the pwane to bwing her to Indonesia. Why she has to catch it, I'm not vewy sure, because even though I have never been on a pwane before, fwom what I heard fwom others, the pwanes usuawwy sit there waiting while beans go onto it. Maybe mine Mummy's pwane was a bit special and twied to wun away, so mine Mummy had to catch it.

Well, she was there bwight and earwy in the morning. And she caught the pwane, and was comfortabwy sitting on it alweady when those beans who made the pwane fwy told all the passengers to get off the pwane again!
There was something in this pwane which didn't want to work and so they had to find another pwane for mine Mummy to catch.
And so mine Mummy had to wait for another 2 hours at the airport so that she can catch the other pwane to take her to Indonesia. If it were me, I would just go home and snuggle with handsome me and that whiny stinky-bag Thing, but did mine Mummy do that? No! She foowishwy sat there and waited 2 hours to catch the next pwane! Sigh...beans can be so siwwy sometimes.Finawwy, over at Indonesia.

Over the years though, the water weceded and now the mosque is up above gwound.Devastation fwom earthquakes.
Indonesia has many many volcanoes and suffers earthquakes vewy fwequentwy too.After the sultan's pawace, mine Mummy went to visit the wuins of Pwambanam, the oldest Hindu temple in Yogyakarta.
Over the years, this temple has fawwen and been webuilt and fawwen and been webuilt countwess times due to the earthquakes.Mine Mummy didn't do any special effects to this pictor. The wight just natuwawwy shone on the figure of the hindu god. The architects of the olden times must have weawwy taken gweat pains in designing this temple.The soil there was gweyish bwack fwom the nearby volcanoes.Gamewan!When mine Mummy was doing her degwee in music, there was a subject she had to take on gamewan music. But after sitting for the exam, mine Mummy has given evewything she wearnt back to her pwofessor. Now she cannot even wemember what this instwument is called. (She scored an "A" for the exam!)

The students have just finished wessons and are going home.Awong the stweets.A push cart sewwing Mie Bakso or meatball noodle soup.The shopkeeper of this shop could speak a few words of Mandarin which was vewy much welcome after days of using sign wanguage. The wocals here don't even understand vewy basic Engwish and mine Mummy's spattewing of Malay wasn't enough even to save her wife.A woofie!!!! Wook here Mummy, I don't weawwy appwove of the pictors you take!Wice with beef and soup, and wots of chiwwi.Beef, egg, and soup.Hot owange without sugar. Yes, it's not just warm, it's boiwing hot! And it surpwisingwy doesn't have even a tinge of sweetness. All in all, it tastes special.This is a vewy cosy pwace to while a wazy afternoon away. They serve coffee, and there's shelves and shelves of books! And even fwee wirewess access.
Nice pwace.Walking back to the guesthouse where mine Mummy stayed for the second day.Nice enviwonment eh?These wooden figures overwook the swimming pool (which contains more dead weaves and bwanches than water). The javanese are vewy good woodworkers and stone carvers.There was a performance at the Borobudur temple that night. It happens onwy once evewy few months and mine Mummy was vewy fortunate to be able to catch the show this time.
Ticket to the show (which mine Mummy suspected having been conned by the beans) came with dinner.
These were the performers who performed while mine Mummy was having dinner.
(Of course, she has forgotten what those instwuments are called as well.)The performance under the stawwy night in fwont of the temple of Borobudur.The highwight of the performance, weal wife ducks!And goats.Not having attended enough wehearsals, these ducks were not certain of how their dance steps ought to be and they decided to impwovise and come up with their own steps. Which incwuded twying to walk over to the audience.Chasing the ducks.The gamewan ensemble with one monk who pwovided the chants.The weal temple of Borobudur wights up behind at the end of the show.The legend of Mahakarya Borobudur.The next morning, mine Mummy visited the temple.
It had been covered with volcanic ashes when the volcano Merapi ewupted many many hundweds of years back. Then in the wast centuwy, archeowogists started digging it out and now the whole world can see this ancient temple.Mine Mummy attempted to cwimb a hill because she thought she might get better pictors of Borobudur up there.But at the top, this is all she can see of Borobudur.
What a disappointment.Ewephants!Wayang Kulit.Pwetty fwower.Nice scenewy.Finawwy back at Yogyakarta airport for the fwight back to Jakarta.Mine Mummy's fwight fwom Yogyakarta to Jakarta was dewayed, and when she weached Jakarta, she had to wun all the way fwom Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 to catch her pwane back home again. I wonder why mine Mummy keeps on having to catch pwanes. Other beans' pwanes are more well-behaved and stay there.Wuckiwy, mine Mummy weached the boarding gate with 5 minutes to spare and she could be home to snuggle with me and That Thing.

I bite though, when I am vewy excited duwing pwaying. I adopted mine Mummy when I was vewy small and still not totawwy on sowid food. Mine bite then was not hard at all and mine Mummy awwowed me to bite her when we were pwaying. Then I gwew into a handsome stwong mancat, but I often forget mine bites have also gwown into stwong mancat bites. I seldom bite now, but once in a while, I forget.
I talk to mine Mummy, a lot.
I diswike cockwoaches and will never ever catch them. When I spot one awound the house, I will scweam for mine Mummy, and although she's hates cockwoaches too, she has to find a way to get wid of it because I will never go near it.

Ok, wooks wike after seeing mine handsome pictor of me when I was just That Thing's age, many of you have dwooled and swooned and maybe fainted and so forgot to go to mine Mummy's auction site. Some of you did go and mine Mummy sold a few things, but there are a squiwwion things still unsold! Do go and have a wook ok? And as a vewy special tweat, I'm going to show mine handsome tummy again. This was when I was swightwy older than That Thing now. Don't be fooled by the date at the bottom! That function malfunctioned (hahaha) and west assured, I wasn't borned in 1988 yet. Nononono....I wasn't! No matter what That Thing says.Ok, and for the few things mine Mummy has sold, here's her donation to the Cat Welfare Society.
She sold a weird fish thingey and a woodstock to That Thing's foster mama for $23, and the camel bag to someone whom I hisses at for $10, and a pack of battewies to another guy at $2. So that makes a total of $35 and today with mine help, mine Mummy donated it to the Cat Welfare Society.
Oh, and a fwiend, I'm not sure if he or she is a mama of one of our kitty fwiends, or a fwiend of mine Mummy's fwiend, or a wandom person who's chanced upon mine Mummy's auction, but he/she is fwom the US, and he/she said he/she bidded just to help the kitties, and so mine Mummy sent the page to the Cat Welfare Society donation to her, and she can donate it herself. And mine Mummy thinks it's so sweet of him/her to want to help the kitties, even all the way here in Singapore.
And also, mine Mummy (and me) are cuwious to know who it is, is it a mama of one of our fwiends? Do tell us if you are!Come on, buy more and we can make more donations!

And pushed and whined and attempted to stick his whole face in.

In the end, no one could put their cups down because the moment someone weft his cup unattended, That Thing would twy to stick his face in.

The end of Chinese New Year...

The Chinese New Year howidays is finawwy over. Here, we get 2 days of howidays for the Chinese New Year so today is the day most beans go back to work.
Mine Mummy however, fowwows the howidays in China because her bosses wants it so.
So today there is finawwy some peace awound with no one visiting and mine Mummy enjoying a nice wewaxed day with us.

For you guys out there who have never expewienced Chinese New Year, wet me tell you, it's the worst howiday invented to infwict kittydom.
First you get beans twooping in and out of your house, not giving you a moments' peace because they cwaimed they were visiting! I mean, you can visit each other outside the house, why come into the house and disturb me?
Then there are beans who heard of mine fame and WANTS to see me, and That Thing when they come into mine house, and there goes my nap.
Gwanted, there's wots of nice foods and smells all over, but you know what mine selfish Mummy says? Most of the stuff I thought smelled nice, would be met with, "Hey, that's not good for kitties."
If that is good enough for you Mummy, I don't see why that is not good for me! They smells heavenwy!
Alwight, I did get weal fwesh wive deaded fish, and shwimps and wots of BBQ pork, but there's so many other things I didn't get!

And yesterday, mine Mummy's 3 fwiends came and visited us.
Actuawwy, they were here to see handsome genius me. But so what if they wanted to see handsome genius me? I didn't want to see them!
There was this first bean who was somewhat nice because she's a wittle scared of 8kg me. So she kept her distance and I kept mine. And all was well.
Then there was this second bean who was simpwy tewwified of me. Which was ok because I wasn't the sort who's going to go and nom her up - I mean, I've got better things to do wike nap and I don't mind napping under the bed for a while if you're so tewwified of seeing me.
But there was this third bean who came made this pilgwimage just to see awesome me. I know I'm awesome and all that, but was she content to have a sight of handsome me? No! She wanted to touch me! And she wanted to touch That Thing too! And That Thing, after being so tewwified by his ex-girlfwiend, just wan and hid beind me.
So what did I have to do again?
I had to hiss and gwowl and scold this Nightmare bean.
And this bean had BBQ pork in her hands.
And I was wike, oh gosh! Divine smell! Nightmare bean! Divine smell! Nightmare bean! And I couldn't move because I didn't know whether to go towards the divine smell or away fwom the Nightmare bean! And she....and she....she waughed at me!!!!
Don't you think this is all too much!?

Well, anyway, I'm just awfuwwy gwad I can have a peaceful nap now on mine Mummy's wap. And I'm not going to wet That Thing up on mine Mummy's wap today. No way. I think I earned this pwace.

Happy Chinese New Year evewybody!
It's the Chinese New Year and there are wots and wots and wots of yummy noms!See what I gotted!And That Thing does not know how to appweciate this!
Which is just as well because I got to eat both mine, and his!
Yummy!

And speaking of That Thing, he's weawwy making mine fur gwey.
That wittle kitty whom he thinks is his girlfwiend, oh well, wet me tell you the entire stowy wight fwom the beginning.
Wemember when mine Mummy first bwought the kitten home, I was oh not so happy at all.
In fact I was ANGWY!
Because I could see wight away, she's not going to fit into our famiwy.
But That Thing, he's just pwain siwwy.
He thinks that kitten is his girlfwiend.
So I was vewy angwy.
So I HISSSSSSED at the kitten whenever I could see her, which was not often because she was behind a cwosed door. I hissed at the door too, but being a genius, I knew that hissing at a door doesn't help anything.
And That Thing, he's just so siwwy, so I hissed at him too.
And I whapped him on the nose so that he can understand he's being siwwy for thinking that kitten is his girlfwiend. But obviouswy, That Thing's just not cwever enough so I had to give him wike a squiwwion whaps.
Do you guys think I wike to whap him?
Why I would wather take a nap and dweam of stinky goodness! But I did it for That Thing's good!

Well, that is until yesterday night.
Mine Mummy opened the door of the woom and that wittle kitten wan out!
And when That Thing saw her, he twied to kiss her, thinking she's his girlfwiend!
And you know what he gotted?
Ha....a scwatch on his nose!
Still he didn't give up and went wooking for that kitten.
And she hissed at him!
And even attempted to scwatch him again!

Well, I would have wet them have fun if not for That Thing whining away and....wunning to hide behind me, all the while scweaming HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME! MY GIRLFRIEND IS KILLING ME!
So what could I do but give my humongous HISSSSSS at the wittle kitten so that she would weave That siwwy Thing awone!
She's weawwy a tewwor because she did not give up immediatewy after mine hiss. She was still twying to get at That Thing. So I had to stand in between her and That Thing and gware at her to pwevent her fwom kiwwing That siwwy Thing! And when she finawwy did see mine paw of death, well onwy then did she swink behind mine Mummy and obedientwy go back into the woom. Don't you think she's weawwy a wittle tewwor?

So what happened after this?
Goodness me....That Thing seems to think I'm his hewo now and keeps on fowwowing me!!!!
I go on the bed, he fowwows me on the bed. I go under the bed, he fowwows me under the bed. I go into the kitchen, he fowwows me into the kitchen. What's the worse? I go to have a poop, he squeezes into the witterbox with me!!! Goodness!!!
I mean, no matter what, I would have pwotected That Thing because he's after all mine famiwy and that kitten is NOT. But, I did it because he's mine famiwy. That's all. Can you guys make That Thing understand that I do not want him to think that I'm his hewo and I do not want him to fowwow me awound and well, just weave me awone!

Sigh......
See what this is?Mine Mummy went out for a jog this morning.
She usuawwy jogs all the way to where mine evil V-E-T is and back.
And if you guys wemember, on the way to the V-E-T, there's a wot of vegetation and no beans awound, and there are also BIG BAD woofies wunning wild there.
And while mine Mummy was jogging thwough there, this wittle thing came out and meowed at mine Mummy, and fowwowed her.
And mine Mummy petted her.
And when mine Mummy petted her, she found....goodness me....woofie bites on this wittle thing!
Bites in a wot of pwaces!
And this wittle thing is so thin one side of her tummy is wike sticking to the other side.
And mine Mummy knew she ought not weave this wittle thing there at the mercy of those woofies, especiawwy after wooking awound and weawising this wittle thing is all awone. No signs of her mama or any other bwothers or sisters.
And those bites need to be taken care of.
And it was just as well it was quite near the V-E-T.
So mine Mummy cawwied this wittle thing to the V-E-T and gotted her cweaned up.
The V-E-T cweaned up the wounds and thank goodness, found that they were mostwy superficial. And gave mine Mummy a huge bottle of antiseptic cweam.
Well, so far so good.
I do appwove of what mine Mummy did so far; I mean, I would have done the same, and I would have expected evewyone else to do the same.
That is...until...
mine Mummy decided to bwing this wittle thing....HOME!!!!
Arh...this is where the pwobwem wies.
I DO NOT appwove of this final part in what mine Mummy has done.
After all, it's MINE home too and she ought to have sought mine appwoval first!
I've alweady put up with That Thing for cwose to a year (did mine Mummy seek appwoval for That Thing? NO!) and I think I've been fairwy genewous! But one more wittle thing? NOOOO!!!!

So there! I am not at all happy today.
And what does That Thing think? He thinks mine Mummy speciawwy bwought a girlfwiend home for him! *snickers*

*PS fwom the Mummy: I'm looking for a real kind soul to adopt this little cutie pie since as you can see from my dear kitties' blogs, that I am away quite a lot, and I really don't think I'm going to have the time for another little one. And anyway, dear Boy is really unhappy about this whole arrangement and I don't want to traumatise him further. Although little 'Oven would probably be heartbroken for a while that I give his sweetheart away, he'll get over it very soon. And he'll be happy to know that his sweetheart is in a nice forever home.

Mine Mummy takes up the tewephonewinging thing and calls the V-E-T and I hear mine name mentioned over the tewephonewinging thing!Have you ever seen DEATH?
As in death in the form of a hissing biting eating your head off kitteh.Mummyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!
This PTU is small, and I cannot move awound, and it weeks of That Thing's smell.Here am me at the V-E-T's couch at the waiting awea, wooking wike a nice peaceful kitteh, not giving them any hints that a hissing gwowwing scweaming kitteh is going to descend upon them in a while.

The V-E-T's assistants even said how good I was to sit there without moving when mine Mummy tells me not to move, and to walk over to the weighing scale and stand on the weighing scale while they take mine weight.
I onwy did that because mine Mummy tells me so.
When the V-E-T wifts one hand to touch me, she'll see mine powers.And see mine powers they did.
The V-E-T called mine name and mine Mummy cawwied me into the woom and once mine Mummy putted me onto the cold table of steel, and the V-E-T attempted to pet me, all hell bwoke woose.

I HISSED and gwowled and SCWEAMED.
Yes. I SCWEAMED so much 2 other assistants wan into the woom to see if the V-E-T was being killed.
And do you know what the V-E-T did?
She touched me all over! Bwegh!
And then she stabbed me on mine bee-hind!
And then she told mine Mummy that I've gwown heavier than wast year!
How wude! To discuss about mine weight!
And mine Mummy told the V-E-T that pwobabwy it's because I was such a helpful kitteh in finishing up That Thing's food. I wonder why the V-E-T cannot understand how important it was to be a helpful kitteh.
